First Blog on New Site!

Finally my super new website.

Here you will find me talking about all things positive.  That's not to say I don't have negative thoughts, negative days and times when I wish things were different, of course I do, however if there's one thing I have learnt it is that these days and times come and go and the best way to deal with them is to learn from them and turn those negatives into positives.

I'm often asked how I cope with the thought of losing my sight on top of being deaf well the simple answer is to take things one day at a time and not dwell on it.

To me it also means I'd like to achieve the many dreams I have, make memories that will stay with me forever as my days even with a little sight could be numbered.

With these thoughts in mind I intend to work and make my dreams come true.  I want to work to live and not live to work and I want to enjoy working.

I have had a tough time growing up, tough time through education and a tough time finding work, however I am not one to give up.

I used to think I had failed when things didn't go right, I now know it wasn't me who failed it was the system that failed me and it is this very thought that drives me to raise awareness of deafblindness and the many challenges it brings whenever and wherever I can.

I am very proud of my charity "The Molly Watt Trust" set up by my parents, its main objective to raise awareness of Usher Syndrome and to fundraise for small but useful items for those with the condition.

I am an Ambassador for Sense the Deafblind Charity and am always happy to support their great work particularly when It is "usher related".

When I was 14 I found myself able to speak publicly about my condition, my support needs, my experiences and am now often asked to carry out Keynote Presentations, to inspire others.

Details of my charity and how to donate to it can be found at www.molly-watt-trust.org
